The Cane Ridge Ravens pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-63 to Franklin. It was the first time this season that Cane Ridge let down their fans at home.
Cane Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avyion Mccleton, who scored 16 points. The contest was Mccleton's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Pugh, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
Cane Ridge's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cane Ridge will take on Pearl-Cohn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on LaVergne at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th.
