The Wayne Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Wayne not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 12, 2025 (when they won 13-0). They blew past Midlakes 14-6. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Reese Sinclair and Lauren VanAllen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Sinclair struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, VanAllen pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those ten strikeouts gave Sinclair a new career-high. At the plate, Sinclair went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI, while VanAllen went 3-for-5 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Sophie Armstrong and Savannah Celso did most of the damage at the plate: Armstrong got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Celso got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Armstrong has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzi Jagoda, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mynderse Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Newark a 19-0 shutout. Fans of the Blue Devils have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like Wayne, Mynderse Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddison Brown. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Brown was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Danielle McDermott was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Haley Young was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Mynderse Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Wayne's record is now 3-1. As for Mynderse Academy, their record now sits at 6-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wayne has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mynderse Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wayne came up short against Mynderse Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 5-2. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
