The Taylorsville Warriors lost against the Layton Lancers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Taylorsville was beaten by Layton 84-45. Taylorsville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-19.
Despite the defeat, Taylorsville had strong showings from Kobe Allen, who scored 14 points along with five assists, and Logan Bertagnolli, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Allen scored a full 31.1% of Taylorsville's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronson Dallimore, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Taylorsville and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Layton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylorsville will take on Summit Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Summit Academy is ranked 100th, while Taylorsville is ranked 106th). As for Layton, they will head out on the road to face off against Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
