Football Recap: Easton Area's Punishing Run Game Keeps Rolling

It's playoff time, and Easton Area had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Parkland Trojans 42-17 on Friday. The Rovers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Cole Ordway produced another solid performance rushing for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 91 yards and one TD on perfect 5-for-5 passing. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (177.1).

Ordway was just one part of a punishing run game: Easton Area was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Trevon Tyler, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Although Parkland took the loss, they still got scores from Jj Brader and Liam Spang.

Easton Area's record is now 13-0. As for Parkland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Coming up, Easton Area will host La Salle College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Explorers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Rovers surely won't give up without a fight. Parkland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
