3A Southern Cascade recap Nov. 7, 2012
Cascade Christian extended the longest winning streak in 3A Southern Cascade this week by beating Lakeview/Paisley, 42-7. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Challengers.
Illinois Valley and Rogue River played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Illinois Valley eventually emerging with a 17-16 victory.
Illinois Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. C. J. Manning has thrown for 270 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Mack Epple has nine catches for 163 yards. Gabe Miller leads the league in rushing with 164 yards.
The Cougars made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,674 from 13,033. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 17-16 victory over the Chieftains last week.
