Palmetto Ridge couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-35 punch to the gut against Riverdale on Friday. Palmetto Ridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Riverdale apparently hadn't forgotten their loss from the last time the teams met up.
The loss dropped Palmetto Ridge back to even at 0-0. The win bumped Riverdale's record up to 1-0.
Palmetto Ridge are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against North Fort Myers next week at 7:30 PM. Neither Palmetto Ridge nor North Fort Myers could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one. As for Riverdale, they will face off against Dunbar.
