Mountain View is 0-6 against Austin since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Mountain View Lobos will look to defend their home pitch against the Austin Panthers at 10:30 a.m. Austin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain View, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Mountain View kept a clean sheet against Riverside. They came out on top against the Rangers by a score of 2-0. The victory was just what Mountain View needed coming off of a 6-2 defeat in their prior contest.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Gemma Limon and
Andrea Quintana, who scored both of Mountain View's goals. The pair have combined for a total of four so far this season.
Meanwhile, Austin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 4-0 defeat at the hands of San Elizario. Austin has struggled against San Elizario recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1.
