Crescenta Valley has gone a perfect 10-0 against Muir recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Crescenta Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Muir at 6:00 p.m. Crescenta Valley will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Crescenta Valley and Mater Dei Catholic meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. Crescenta Valley came out on top against Mater Dei Catholic by a score of 6-3.
Sam Sellars looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dashiell Schultz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Chris Chien, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Crescenta Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mater Dei Catholic struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Muir came up short against Burroughs on Friday, falling 8-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost eight in a row.
Muir saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arturo Ayers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Kahlil Rishwain was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Crescenta Valley pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Muir, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Everything went Crescenta Valley's way against Muir in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Crescenta Valley made off with a 10-0 victory. Will Crescenta Valley repeat their success, or does Muir has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
