Delta is 8-2 against Swanton since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Delta will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Archbold, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Delta walked away with a 57-48 win over Archbold on Thursday.
Delta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Lohman, who went 8 of 16 en route to 21 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Addison Wyse, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Delta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Swanton came up short against Holgate on Monday and fell 39-28.
Delta will need focus on slowing down Jessica Finfera, one of several Swanton players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Bettinger, who scored five points and five steals.
Delta pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Swanton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Delta has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Swanton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 20.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
