Birdville extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Makena Wharton. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Richland Royals on Friday thanks in part to Wharton, who had 11 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-14.

Birdville's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Richland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Birdville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Grapevine on the 23rd. As for Richland, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Fossil Ridge on the 23rd.
