The Gateway Christian Warriors will be playing at home against the Hondo Valley Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Gateway Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Gateway Christian couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Tatum. Gateway Christian has not had much luck with Tatum recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Gateway Christian had strong showings from Victor Oaxaca, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and Grady Munson, who scored 16 points along with 9 steals and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hondo Valley took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 58-23 win over Lake Arthur.
Gateway Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hondo Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
