Basketball Recap: Northmont Skates Past Legion Collegiate Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northmont). They claimed a resounding 70-40 win over the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbolts.

Despite the defeat, Legion Collegiate Academy had strong showings from Maddox Cottman, who posted 11 points, and Kenyn Walker, who earned seven points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Walker has posted since back in November of 2024.

Northmont's record is now 4-5. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northmont will challenge Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northmont is facing Fairmont at the right time seeing as Fairmont is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mountain View Prep at 7:00 p.m. Mountain View Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
