Byrnes Rebels recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Greer walked away with a 67-58 win over James F. Byrnes. Greer's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why James F. Byrnes lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Fowler. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. The game was Fowler's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kayzzin McDowell was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 11 rebounds and 4 steals.
Greer's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for James F. Byrnes, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Greer will head out on the road to face off against Powdersville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Powdersville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Greer likes a good challenge. As for James F. Byrnes, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Riverside at 7:30 p.m. Riverside is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
