Softball Recap: Walnut Grove Beats Rouse for Their Third Straight Win

Walnut Grove put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Rouse Raiders by a score of 10-6.

Walnut Grove let Kailee James and Lyndsey Hooker loose on the outfield. James went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Hooker scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Hooker has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivian McKernan, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Walnut Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Walnut Grove's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Rouse, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Walnut Grove has already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Barbers Hill on the 14th. As for Rouse, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Thrall on the 14th.
