Even though the Hueneme Vikings have not done well against the Nordhoff Rangers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Hueneme walked away with a 52-45 win over Nordhoff. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hueneme.
Hueneme can attribute much of their success to Chris Juanillo, who scored 14 points along with seven assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Juanillo has scored at least 25% of Hueneme's points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Cunningham, who scored nine points.
Hueneme's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Nordhoff, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Hueneme will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Santa Ynez at 3:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Nordhoff, they will challenge Malibu at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
