The Shelton Gaels lost to the New Milford Green Wave back in December of 2022, but the Shelton Gaels didn't allow the New Milford Green Wave the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Shelton walked away with a 59-50 win over New Milford.
New Milford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kelvin Mendoza, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mendoza has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Esposito, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
The victory got Shelton back to even at 1-1. As for New Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelton will finish 2023 at home by hosting New Canaan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Milford, they will play host again and welcome Bethel, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
