Trillium Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Star International Academy Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Trillium Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 games -- so hopefully Star International Academy likes a good challenge.
Trillium Academy put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over Center Line Prep. Given Trillium Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Center Line Prep is ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trillium Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylin Bradford, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Bradford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Ian Knox was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Star International Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They fell to Michigan Math & Science 39-35.
Trillium Academy's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.7 points. As for Star International Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Everything came up roses for Trillium Academy against Star International Academy in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 65-19 win.
