Maranatha Christian pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Bishop's by a score of 60-58. Maranatha Christian has struggled against Bishop's recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Maranatha Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zeke Walker, who scored 20 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Walker's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Will Ralston was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Foothills Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Francis Parker 87-36. While losing is never fun, Foothills Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 932nd, while Francis Parker is ranked 311th).
Maranatha Christian's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Foothills Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
