After flying high against the Westwood Wildcats last Tuesday, the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors came back down to earth. Southwest Georgia Academy took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Terrell Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwest Georgia Academy in their matchups with Terrell Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryant Collins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Collins has scored all season. Grayson Cox was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds.
Southwest Georgia Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Terrell Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-11.
Southwest Georgia Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Citizens Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on February 9th. Citizens Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Southwest Georgia Academy likes a good challenge. Terrell Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
