The World of Inquiry Griffins lost against the Monroe Red Jackets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. World of Inquiry lost to Monroe on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for World of Inquiry in their matchups with Monroe: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, World of Inquiry still got an impressive performance from Rory Rhone, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Yacoub Tarawally, who scored ten points.
World of Inquiry has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Monroe, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. World of Inquiry will challenge Penn Yan Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Penn Yan Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Monroe, they will head out on the road to face off against Early College at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
