Devin Brown Delivers Best Performance of Season
Russell County was led to victory by Devin Brown, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Brown rushed for 201 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
The win was the fifth in a row for Russell County, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Brown and Russell County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pike Road at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Bryson Mcgrew Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Percy Julian got the W thanks in part to Bryson Mcgrew playing the best football he has all season. Mcgrew threw for 343 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 59 yards. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.
The victory got Percy Julian back to even at 3-3. Mcgrew and Percy Julian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Wetumpka at 7:00 p.m.
