The Bison Cardinals suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Kadoka 60-24. Bison has struggled against Kadoka recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Rylee Veal and Colbin Seidel certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Veal scored 12 points along with five rebounds, while Seidel scored eight points. That was a full 50% of Bison's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bison struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kadoka racked up 21 assists.
Kadoka's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gus Stout, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Hermann, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bison's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Kadoka, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bison will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McIntosh at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Kadoka, they will play host again and welcome Bennett County, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Bennett County is ranked 127th, while Kadoka is ranked 113th).
