The Independence 76ers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 57-39 to Evergreen Valley. Independence was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Evergreen Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.
When it comes to explaining why Independence lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joshua Villanueva. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Independence has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Evergreen Valley, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Independence will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Evergreen Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Branham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Branham knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Evergreen Valley likes a good challenge.
