  Noah Meece made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Meece has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Meece was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-2.
 In other batting news,  JJ Belmore was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.  Jiles Mason was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 The  win  got Gibson Southern back to even at 8-8. As for Pike Central, their victory  ended  a  six-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-9.
 Gibson Southern beat Pike Central 5-2  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pike Central's  Kendric Sorgius, who   struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits (and not a single walk).
