The Atlanta Rabbits will venture away from home to square off against the De Kalb Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlanta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Atlanta proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Redwater 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Rabbits sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Gabby Arredondo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carlajah Adger was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Anna Davis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for De Kalb, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Liberty-Eylau get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Monday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.
De Kalb got a massive performance out of Kaitlin Parks, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Mullins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
De Kalb is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. Atlanta's record is now 14-7-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Atlanta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like De Kalb struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Atlanta might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from De Kalb in their previous meeting back in March. Can Atlanta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
