Moffat is 1-6 against Sierra Grande since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Moffat Cowboys will face off against the Sierra Grande Panthers at 5:00 p.m.
Moffat is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-21 heartbreaker at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent.

Despite the loss, Moffat had strong showings from Kandra Pollard, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Madison Payne, who posted no points. Pollard is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Sierra Grande entered their tilt with Kim/Branson on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They secured a 35-31 W over the Mustangs. 35 seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Moffat better focus on containing Eneria Quintana and Yazmin Molina as the pair were huge in Sierra Grande's win. Quintana went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points in addition to six boards and four steals, while Molina earned four points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Audrianna Gerardo also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Sierra Grande smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.
Sierra Grande's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points per game. As for Moffat, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Moffat has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sierra Grande struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Moffat took a serious blow against Sierra Grande in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 54-12. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sierra Grande's Jaylyn Quezada, who posted 19 points and six steals. Now that Moffat knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
