Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Grove City Greyhounds, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell to Lincoln 48-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grove City in their matchups with Lincoln: they've now lost nine in a row.
It was another big night for Diore Hubbard, who rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 56 receiving yards. Hubbard was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Lincoln also got a significant boost from Jayden Lewis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 95 yards.
Another reason for the win was Lincoln's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Derek Bradley and his two sacks.
Grove City's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lincoln, their win was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Grove City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lincoln will be playing at home against Upper Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Upper Arlington will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
