The Athens Indians lost against the Bellevue Broncos back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Athens was dealt a 76-21 loss at the hands of Bellevue. Athens has struggled against Bellevue recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Heath Tigges, who scored 6 points. Tigges scored a full 28.6% of Athens' points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Elijah Flynn was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bellevue, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens will face off against Climax-Scotts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bellevue, they will head out on the road to face off against Mendon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
