The biggest upset of the week belonged to La Quinta, who defeated 910th ranked Bolsa Grande, 43-21. Tommy Duong ran for 201 yards in the win.
The Aztecs scaled the state rankings by moving to 1,003 from 1,030 this week, the biggest jump in Garden Grove. La Quinta was able to move up by beating the Matadors 43-21.
Angel Martinez threw for 250 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 14-15 with 0 interceptions.
Jose Olvera was a beast in the backfield as Los Amigos defeated Santiago.
Olvera was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 210 yards on 15 carries as the Lobos bested Rancho Alamitos. Moby Contreras also contributed to the rushing game with 139 yards on the ground.
5-foot-11 quarterback Martinez of the Argonauts is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,563. He has also thrown 23 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Devin Velez. The Rancho Alamitos star has 37 catches for 592 yards.
In 166 carries Armando Ahumada has accumulated 946 yard this year.
Garden Grove extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Vaqueros, 70-24. The victory was the 10th in a row for Willy Puga's team.
