The Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scottsdale Preparatory Academy. Rancho Solano Prep has not had much luck with Scottsdale Preparatory Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nenah Brown, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 45.7% of Rancho Solano Prep's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zoey Pozen was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Hurley, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maeve Morgan, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Rancho Solano Prep dropped their record down to 10-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Phoenix Country Day the next time they take the court. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will head out to face Phoenix Country Day at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Rancho Solano Prep will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
