The Crow Creek Chieftains's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 65-55 to Cheyenne-Eagle Butte. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Easton Lawrence led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. The game was Lawrence's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayson Kennedy, who scored 16 points.
Crow Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Crow Creek will head out on the road to face off against Mobridge-Pollock at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lakota Tech at 6:00 p.m. Lakota Tech is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
