Softball Recap: Marian Catholic's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Williams Valley, Marian Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Nativity BVM Green Wave 19-3. The result was nothing new for Marian Catholic, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Emily Upanavage made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Malina Letcher was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hailey Treskolasky, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Marian Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .739. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Marian Catholic's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Nativity BVM, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Marian Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-0 victory against Weatherly on the 22nd. As for Nativity BVM, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-1 defeat against Minersville on the 22nd.
