Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Monache's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Golden West typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Monache proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Trailblazers with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Marauders, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Makenzie Haslam was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Camacho Barrios, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Monache always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden West only posted an OBP of .312.

Monache has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Golden West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11-1.

Looking ahead, Monache will challenge Porterville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Panthers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Golden West, they will take on El Diamante at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
