Baseball Recap: Millard South Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Millard South extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 19-7 in the process. They put the hurt on the Norfolk Panthers with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Patriots have won 12 games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Altstadt looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blake McAndrews was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 16 contests. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Appuhn, who earned three RBI and one run.

Millard South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .562 or higher in three consecutive matches.

As for Norfolk, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Norfolk's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Synovec, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
