Everything went their way against Cambria Heights as West Shamokin made off with  a  13-4 win. 13 seems to be a good number for West Shamokin as the  squad scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
  Avery Elkin made a splash no matter where she played. She  tossed 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Elkin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Elkin was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and a  double.
 In other batting news,  Aleya Talmadge was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Maria Young, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  stolen base.
 Meanwhile, River Valley was not the first on the board  last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past Cambria Heights  3-1.
 West Shamokin's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for River Valley, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
 Everything went West Shamokin's way against River Valley when the teams last played  back in May of 2023 as West Shamokin made off with  a  6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Shamokin since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
