Victor Corniel made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Goldberg, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Meanwhile, Conwell-Egan Catholic hadn't done well against Roman Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Roman Catholic's batters probably weren't too happy with Caleb Cuaves, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up zero walks).
On the hitting side, Cullen Edwards was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base. Keegan Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
