Superior is 10-0 against Lawrence-Nelson since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Superior Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Superior is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Monday, Superior didn't have too much trouble with Smith Center at home as they won 42-28. Superior pushed the score to 32-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Smith Center cut but never quite recovered from.
Superior found their leader in underclassman Reagan Meyers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Meyers continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Sadie Cornell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 35-24 to Kenesaw.
Superior is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Lawrence-Nelson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
Everything went Superior's way against Lawrence-Nelson when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Superior made off with a 47-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Superior since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
