4A Region 7 recap November 5, 2013
Columbia added to the longest winning streak in 4A Region 7 this week by beating McComb, 28-24. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Wildcats.
South Pike fell to North Pike 39-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. John Jones was a bright spot for the Eagles, as he ran for 55 yards in the defeat.
Markell Pack was a passing and rushing force as Purvis bested Lawrence County. Pack's key target this week was Pack, who caught 4 passes for 94 yards.
Pack was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tornadoes topped the Cougars. Pack tallied 4 receptions for 94 yards.
The Tigers' Alex Woodall and Larkin Walker led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Woodall has thrown for 1,860 yards this season, while Walker has 39 catches for 662 yards. Lakedric Lee from the Jaguars leads the league in rushing with 1,079 yards.
Going into this week's game against Vancleave, McComb's Woodall needs 140 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
Columbia and Malcolm Jones' team played the closest game in 4A Region 7 this week, with Columbia eventually emerging with a 28-24 victory. Bryson Medious during the win.
