Black River's game  on Monday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Clearview Clippers with a sharp  15-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won four contests by nine  runs or more  so far this season.
 Rebekah Miller was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Black River got a  massive  performance out of  Jenna Dieter, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI.  Madelyn Stief was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base.
 Black River  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in four consecutive  matchups.
Black River has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Clearview, their loss was  their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-8.
 Black River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  6-5  win against Firelands on the 16th. As for Clearview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  20-0  defeat against Keystone on the 17th.
