The Ryle Raiders will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Mount Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Ryle faced Pulaski County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ryle came out on top against Pulaski County by a score of 55-47.
Ryle relied on the efforts of Quinn Eubank, who almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists, and Sarah Baker, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Eubank has scored at least 25% of Ryle's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Jones, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Mount Notre Dame put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Ursula Academy 64-19 at home. Given Mount Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while St. Ursula Academy is ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ryle's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mount Notre Dame, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Ryle was able to grind out a solid victory over Mount Notre Dame in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 47-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ryle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
