Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Potts Camp

Potts Camp barely beat Strayhorn the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Potts Camp's pitcher stepped up to hand Strayhorn an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 11 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Zoey Clark, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Charlie Holmes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Potts Camp was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive games.

Potts Camp's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Strayhorn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Strayhorn will head out to challenge Byhalia at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Potts Camp will be paying especially close attention to Strayhorn's contest: after Strayhorn faces off against Byhalia, they'll take on Potts Camp again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
