In other batting news, Cullen McGhee was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Cooper Henderson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Meanwhile, Fox Creek had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The Predators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Hank Greene, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Frischmann, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Fox Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Swansea only posted an OBP of .200.
Seneca has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fox Creek, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Seneca has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fox Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
