Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Headland). Everything went their way against the Cottonwood Bears on Monday as the Headland Rams made off with a 19-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Shaylee Greathouse made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent over her last four matchups. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine games.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Grantham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last nine contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Fitts, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Headland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Headland broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-6. As for Cottonwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Headland will welcome Eufaula at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eufaula has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.94 runs per game on average), something Headland will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cottonwood, they will take on Samson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
