Johnson County has gone a perfect 10-0 against Cloudland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Longhorns will venture away from home to take on the Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Johnson County has three straight victories, Cloudland has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Johnson County barely beat Unaka the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns blew past the Rangers 12-5 on Thursday.

Kaden Blevins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Johnson County: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Carson Jennings was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cloudland lost 11-3 to University School on Thursday.
Cloudland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Johnson County's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Cloudland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Johnson County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cloudland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Johnson County took their victory against Cloudland in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
