Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs  on Friday. Byers walked away with  a   36-24  win over Elbert. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Byers also won the last time the pair played  back in October of 2024.
 Byers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Benjamin McPherson, who rushed for 74 yards and two  TDs. McPherson showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was  Caleb Eastwood, who gained 142 total yards and a touchdown.

The  win (which was Byers' fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.5 points on average over those games. As for Elbert, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 6-2.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Byers is set to  take on  their familiar foe Calhan  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Elbert will  face off against  rival Simla  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 25th.
