MaxPreps Academy Top 10 presented by the Army National Guard1. (No. 1 last week) Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), 23-0Under first-year head coach Todd Simon, the Pilots could be navigating toward their second national championship since arriving on the scene in 2006. If that scenario materializes, Simon and Findlay Prep will no doubt look back on Monday's
dramatic 62-59 victory over then-No. 2 Montverde Academy with special fondness. Trailing by nine entering the fourth quarter, National Player of the Year candidate
Nigel Williams-Goss put the Pilots on his back with 18 points in the final eight minutes.

Germantown Academy (Fort Washington, Pa.) will be no pushover this weekend at the Hoop Group's Lehigh Valley Showcase, but the Gray Bees' showdown with Xcellent 25 No. 3 St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.) on Feb. 1 is the game folks in the Garden State have been waiting for all season.
3. (4) Prime Prep (Dallas), 18-0Prime swept a pair of Ohio teams over the weekend at Flyin' to the Hoop outside of Dayton. Junior guard
Emmanuel Mudiay was named to the All-Invitational Team but senior forward
Jordan Mickey was also deserving with 41 points and 20 boards in the two contests.
4. (5) La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.), 20-1Fresh off a win over Huntington Prep at Flyin' to the Hoop, the Lakers are headed to the Montverde Academy Invitational in Florida this weekend and open with a dangerous Inglewood (Calif.) squad Thursday.
5. (2) Montverde Academy (Fla.), 19-2It was a rough weekend for Kevin Boyle's Eagles. First, they were stunned at the buzzer in the final of the Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions by giant killer Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.). Two days later, Montverde was dropped again in heartbreaking fashion by Findlay Prep. In addition to No. 4 La Lumiere and Inglewood, the Eagles welcome Edgewater (Orlando, Fla.), Oldsmar Christian (Fla.), Orlando Christian Prep (Fla.), Shiloh (Snellville, Ga.) and St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) to town this weekend for the Montverde Academy Invitational.
6. (6) Huntington Prep (W.Va.), 19-2The Express rebounded from the loss to La Lumiere with a win over Noah Vonleh and New Hampton School (N.H.) at the Spalding Hoophall Classic. Huntington Prep will have its hands full this weekend at the Dunk 4 Diabetes Shootout against Bob Krizancic and the Runnin' Cardinals of Mentor (Ohio).
7. (7) Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), 19-3The Warriors will play games in Kentucky, Nevada and West Virginia over the next 10 days. After that there will be a whole lot of home cooking with 10 of the final 12 games taking place on campus at Oak Hill.
8. (8) Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.), 22-0The reluctance of other pollsters to recognize Sunrise Christian Academy is mystifying. Sure, the schedule is comprised of many non-name brand programs, but there aren't a lot of options for an independent in the middle of the country. The Buffaloes have at least six future Division I players and haven't lost since December of 2011.
9. (9) Greensboro Day (N.C.), 28-0All but two of Greensboro Day's 28 victories have come by 10 points or more, with 18 coming by 20 points or more. The Bengals will need to be on top of their game Friday against 17-3 High Point Christian Academy.
10. (NR) Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville, Fla.), 19-3No. 6 Huntington Prep is responsible for two of the ACD's three losses this season. The Apaches' roster was recently bolstered with the addition of guards
Isaiah Lewis and
Damontrae Jefferson and 6-9 junior forward
Alpha Ndaw.
