The Huntington North Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Woodlan Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Huntington North came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Carroll, falling 3-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
While Huntington North was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Carroll's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-19.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Carter Smith, who had eight digs and two assists.
Meanwhile, Woodlan narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past East Noble 3-2.
Woodlan took East Noble into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Huntington North hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5.5 blocks per game. However, it's not like Woodlan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.4 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Huntington North's way against Woodlan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Huntington North made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
