Basketball Recap: Saraland Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Saraland extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Shakira Williams. The Saraland Spartans snuck past the Bryant Hurricanes with a 60-55 victory on Friday thanks in part to Williams, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bryant lost, don't look at Madi-Marie Grayson. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 19 en route to 22 points and four steals. Grayson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mari-Margret Grayson, who posted 19 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Saraland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Bryant, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-11.

Saraland has already played their next matchup, a 46-36 win against Blount on the 3rd. As for Bryant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mary G. Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bryant knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Mary G. Montgomery likes a good challenge.
