The North Hills Christian Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Lee Christian 109-69 at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for North Hills Christian as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Champion Hayden, who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of North Hills Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrod Drye Jr., who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Lee Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Rumbold, who scored 28 points along with six assists and two steals. Rumbold is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 15 games he's played. Another player making a difference was William Feaster, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
North Hills Christian's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Lee Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Hills Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Kings at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Victory Christian Center's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten games. As for Lee Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cresset Christian Academy is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
