The Sissonville Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 60-49 to Ripley. Sissonville has struggled against Ripley recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makinley Britton, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynadee Britton, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Ripley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Nichols, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Erin Ryan, who scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals.
Sissonville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Ripley, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sissonville will take on Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Sissonville is ranked 26th). Ripley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lewis County at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. Lewis County will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
